PainDemic releases single “FWF” on SoundCloud ahead of streaming debut

Following releases on Ampwall and Bandcamp, the US-based group makes the track available on SoundCloud.

Continuing their staggered release strategy for the single “FWF,” the band PAINDEMIC has launched the song on the global independent scene’s favorite platform: SoundCloud. Making the single available on this platform marks the end of exclusivity for collectors and opens the floodgates for sharing before its arrival on major platforms (Spotify, Deezer, etc.) at the end of the month.

At this stage, the focus shifts from high fidelity (Ampwall and Bandcamp) to accessibility. The SoundCloud format allows the track to be easily embedded in blogs and zines, and shared via social media without login barriers, reaching casual listeners and new fans outside the bubble of other platforms.

The track features production by Bill Metoyer. Known as one of the “godfathers” of the Metal Blade sound in the 80s, Metoyer not only shaped Slayer but was the engineer behind classics by Sacred Reich (Ignorance), the complexity of Flotsam and Jetsam, and the crossover rawness of Corrosion of Conformity. This sonic pedigree is evident in “FWF,” which balances the genre’s necessary grit with modern clarity.

Regarding the decision to release the track on SoundCloud before commercial platforms, bassist Gary Monardo highlights the importance of keeping the “tape trading” spirit alive in the digital realm: “SoundCloud today fulfills the role that tape trading had in the past: it’s fast, direct, and it’s where the real music listener is digging for new stuff without filters. We want the music to circulate freely, for people to share the link without barriers.”

The global release of the single on all streaming platforms is confirmed for February 27th, but PAINDEMIC invites the public to hit play now and get to know the new lineup that unites veterans formerly of Hirax and Wargod.
