PainDemic signs with No Life Til Metal Records

Group solidifies partnership with the North American label and defines CD and Vinyl release schedule.  

Thrash Metal band PAINDEMIC has just announced the signing of a contract with the North American label No Life Til Metal Records. The partnership includes the release of their first full-length, which is scheduled to come out on CD and Vinyl formats in early 2027.

Formed by former Hirax bassist Gary Monardo, alongside vocalist Rob Perkins (ex-Wargod and Cold Blood) and young guitarist Cheyenne Scott (winner of the 2023 Cliff Burton Scholarship), PAINDEMIC has been standing out in the underground since the beginning of the year.   In recent months, the group stirred up the scene with an unconventional and intentionally segmented distribution strategy. Their debut single, “FWF”, and their most recent self-titled single, “PainDemic” (released in March), were made available in phases — passing through platforms like Ampwall and Bandcamp (via Gutted Records), before reaching major streaming services. All material features production by legendary engineer Bill Metoyer, known for shaping the sound of giants like Slayer, Sacred Reich, Flotsam and Jetsam, and Hirax itself.  

It is worth noting that No Life Til Metal Records has consolidated itself as a true haven for musicians who made history in Hirax. Besides PAINDEMIC, the label actively works with the bands HarXson and Primal, which also feature former members of the Californian band in their lineups, strengthening the ties and the legacy of this historic scene within the label’s roster.   Bassist Gary Monardo commented on the new contract and the band’s current moment: “We are very excited to release vinyls and CDs for the PainDemic community next year. We are currently writing what will be an EP or an album. That will depend heavily on how fast we find our new drummer and build solid chemistry in the band. We also don’t want to rush the songwriting, as we are very picky with every riff, transition, lyric, and song structure. So we won’t release an album if we have to put ‘filler’ tracks on it.”
