PainDemic releases self-titled single via Gutted Records

Produced by Bill Metoyer, the track unites Metal veterans with the new generation in a release schedule divided into three phases.

PAINDEMIC presents its second single, the self-titled track “PainDemic“, a direct follow-up to their debut release “FWF“. Choosing to name the song after the band itself defines their musical identity and introduces the project’s aesthetics right from the start. The distribution of this new record maintains the phased format tested in the previous release, launching the single in three distinct stages to extend the promotional period for each song.

Regarding the meaning of the composition, vocalist Rob Perkins explains: “The essence of who we are and what this song represents lies in the very junction of the words that make up the name of the band and the track: ‘Pain’ and ‘Pandemic’. We wanted to illustrate an absolute, global plague of agony from which no one can escape. The lyrics throw you straight into an apocalyptic scenario of punishment, ruled by a merciless entity that decrees doomsday. It’s as if our character watches the destruction from above with total apathy. The victims’ screams don’t affect him, and the message is very aggressive and direct: this eternal catastrophe has come to collect its due and simply will never stop.”

The recording features a lineup that unites scene veterans with new talents. The foundation is supported by the original rhythm section from Hirax‘s absolute classics (Raging Violence and Hate, Fear and Power), consisting of Gary Monardo on bass and Johnnie Tabares on drums. Fronting the band is Rob Perkins, a vocalist whose trajectory goes back to Cold Blood and Wargod, where he collaborated with figures like Gene Hoglan and Michelle Meldrum. The group’s contemporary edge lies in the six strings of 23-year-old Cheyenne Scott, winner of the 2023 Cliff Burton Scholarship.

To extract the old-school feeling alongside the young talent, the material’s production was once again handled by Bill Metoyer. The execution of the release schedule begins with the song already available on the GUTTED RECORDS label’s Bandcamp. On March 27th, the release will be expanded to major streaming services. Finishing the cycle, on April 10th, the single arrives on Ampwall and SoundCloud.
